Special abilities: The abilities listed in the special column are the metamagic feats the Blood Mage can use. To use the feat, the mage spends the number listed in parenthesis in hit points. These feats can be used on any arcane spell the mage knows. The hit points expended can be either the mage's or life force stolen from others and stored for use. Naturally, stealing life force from others is an extremely evil act, and the few Blood Mages who have done so are cast out of the society and hunted. As well, there are usually unforeseen consequences to stealing another's life.
Special drawbacks: Any hit points expended to use the feats must be healed naturally, they cannot be magically healed. As well, a blood mage expends their life force, loosening their ties to the material world and preventing them from being resurrected.
